Copyright Policy
Last updated: 2026-09-26
On SoccerLink users post photos and videos. Many match videos are filmed by a club, a university, a league, a broadcaster or a photographer, and appearing in them does not give anyone the right to post them. This policy explains how we handle copyright notices and illegal content notices. It forms part of the Terms.
1. What we ask of people who post
- Only post content that is yours or that you have permission to share. By posting, you confirm this.
- You remain the owner of what you post. You only give SoccerLink permission to host and display it within the Platform.
- We record who uploaded each file and when, so that we can respond to a claim.
2. How to report copyright infringement
If you own the rights, or act on behalf of the owner, you can notify us in three ways:
- In the app, with the "Report" option on the post and the copyright reason.
- Without an account, through the contact and takedown form.
- By email to [EMAIL DE CONTACTO LEGAL].
For us to act, the notice must include:
- Which work is being infringed (for example, "highlights of match X broadcast by Y").
- Where the content is on SoccerLink: the link to the post or profile.
- Your name, your email and, if you act for someone else, on whose behalf.
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the owner, their agent or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
- Your signature, which can be your full name typed.
If the notice is incomplete we will ask for what is missing. A false or bad-faith notice may have legal consequences for the sender.
3. What we do when we receive a notice
- We confirm receipt, if you have given us an email.
- We review it within 7 days.
- If it is valid, we remove the content and inform the person who posted it, with a copy of the notice. That copy includes the name of the rights owner or the person acting for them, but not their email or phone number.
- We tell you our decision.
4. Counter-notice
If we remove your content and you believe it was a mistake, because the content is yours, because you have permission or because the law allows that use, you can send a counter-notice to [EMAIL DE CONTACTO LEGAL] with:
- Which content was removed and where it was.
- A statement that you believe in good faith that it was removed by mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address and phone number.
- If you live in the United States, a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district; if you live elsewhere, to the courts of the place where SoccerLink is located; and that you will accept service from the person who sent the notice.
- Your signature, which can be your full name typed.
We will forward the counter-notice, with your contact details, to the person who sent the original notice. If within 10 to 14 business days they do not show us that they have filed a court action to stop the content being posted, we may restore it.
5. Repeat infringer policy
We count the valid copyright removals for each account over the last 12 months:
- First removal: the content is removed and we warn you.
- Second removal: your ability to post is suspended. You can still view, follow and comment.
- Third removal: the account is suspended.
A removal that is reversed by an accepted counter-notice or a successful appeal does not count. In clear cases of large-scale or deliberate infringement we may suspend the account sooner.
6. United States (DMCA)
For users in the United States, this policy follows the notice and counter-notice procedure of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512).
Designated agent to receive notices: [AGENTE DMCA PENDIENTE DE DESIGNAR ANTE LA COPYRIGHT OFFICE]. Until the agent is designated, send notices to [EMAIL DE CONTACTO LEGAL] or through the contact and takedown form.
7. Illegal content notices (European Union)
Copyright notices are one thing and notices about other illegal content are another. If you believe content is illegal for another reason (for example, threats, sharing intimate images or fraud), you can send us an illegal content notice under the EU Digital Services Act:
- In the app, with the "Report" option and the illegal content reason.
- Without an account, through the contact and takedown form, choosing "illegal content".
The notice must explain why you believe the content is illegal, give the exact link, and include your name and email (except for notices about child sexual abuse, which can be anonymous) and a statement that what you say is true and sent in good faith.
We handle these notices separately from reports of breaches of the Guidelines, we confirm receipt and we tell you our decision. The person who posted the content also receives the decision and its reason, and can appeal as the Guidelines explain.
Point of contact for authorities and users: [EMAIL DE CONTACTO LEGAL].
8. Image rights
Image rights are different from copyright. If you appear in a photo or video posted without your permission, or a minor in your care does, report it from the app with the personal data reason or write to us at [EMAIL DE CONTACTO LEGAL]. Content involving minors is reviewed with priority.
